S3-WQ service specifications

Service Description

The Water Quality Parameters (S3-WQ) service performs calculation of water quality maps of chlorophyll and turbidity in particular: suspended particulate matter, turbidity, water transparency and harmful algal bloom probability.

The S3-WQ processing service allows to extract measurements of water quality from Sentinel-3 data over a log temporal period in a completely automatic way. The output consists of a raster map for each water quality parameter requested, that is: chlorophyll concentration, turbidity, water transparency, sea surface temperature and probability of Harmful Algal Bloom (HAB) occurrence.

The generated products were then used in the ADB SC 115944 INO project to obtain the geo analytics to assess the impact of aquaculture on the health of coastal areas.
