Calibrated optical data
After the ingestion in the mCube of optical EO data harvested from multiple sources, an initial processing is performed to calibrate them and make them ready for further generic processing as a Dataset. The result comprises:
-
a series of single band assets for the panchromatic and/or multispectral bands included in the EO data product, provided as full resolution calibrated data (reflectance),
-
a series of overview assets that provide three band combinations readily available in full resolution.
These assets represent process ready data for visualization and/or for on-demand processing.
In mCube the calibration of multi-mission optical input products at TOA/BOA level is done in a systematic fashion and is performed during the acquisitions ingestion phase.
Optical calibrated Datasets are pre-processed EO data with physically meaningful quantities (e.g. reflectance) which enables a faster thematic processing by applying common operations according to the sensor type. An optical calibrated Dataset includes both TOA/BOA reflectance single-band assets and visual products derived from them offered as multi-band overview assets.
